This week's edition is on the 'Yokohama Asahi Jazz Festival', which will take place in Asahi Ward.

The 'Yokohama Asahi Jazz Festival will be held at the baseball ground in Asahi Ward’s nature-rich ‘Children’s Nature Park’ on Sunday 31st August.

The event is one of Yokohama’s largest outdoor music festivals, and this year, it will be in its 34th year.

The professional stage will feature a diverse range of artists, including pianist and trumpeter Sora Fujii, the first collaboration between American-based Tadataka Unno and gospel queen TiA, and the four-piece band bohemianvoodoo, known for their emotional melodies and exhilarating drive.

In the finale, singer, actress, and entertainer Yu Hayami will boost excitement with her jazz vocals.

In addition to this, five amateur bands, selected from over 60 applications, as well as bands from local kindergartens and junior high schools, will deliver outstanding performances.

Numerous food trucks will be at the venue too, selling tasty food and drinks, and there will also be free music events for children that don’t require booking in advance.

Please bring along drinks, towels, rain or shine umbrellas, and other items to prevent heatstroke and sunburn, and enjoy the open-air festival on the grass with your families and friends.
