Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
13th August 2025
This week's edition is on ‘Yokohama Night Zoo 2025’.
Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia, Nogeyama Zoo, and Kanazawa Zoo are holding the special summer event, ‘Yokohama Night Zoo 2025’, every Saturday and Sunday in August, as well as on the national holiday on the 11th.
On these days the zoos extend their opening hours so visitors can experience the zoos at night, which is not normally possible.
Opening hours are being extended to 8pm at Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia, and to 8:30pm at Nogeyama Zoo and Kanazawa Zoo, allowing visitors to avoid the intense summer heat of the day, and enjoy a different side to both the animals and the zoo atmospheres in the evenings, when the sun begins to set and the weather becomes more comfortable.
At Zoorasia, in addition to guided tours of the animals by zookeepers, visitors can enjoy a variety of events, such as workshops and quizzes. Various parts of the park are also decorated with illuminations, and this year there are spots where you can cool off too.
At Nogeyama Zoo, zookeepers offer guided animal tours, and Night Zoo admission is free as well.
Kanazawa Zoo holds animal guides by zookeepers called 'Night Talk', and projection mapping takes place too.
Why not visit the zoo at night to create a lasting memory of your summer holiday?
Staff at the zoos look forward to welcoming you.
