Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
16th July 2025
This week’s edition is on the opening of outdoor park pools and water play events at parks.
This year too, outdoor park pools are open during the summer period.
They can be used from 9am-6pm, between Saturday 12th July and Sunday 7th September.
At Motomachi Park pool, visitors can enjoy nighttime operation hours from 6pm-9pm. The children’s pool, which can be used by toddlers to elementary school first graders, is open until 4pm.
Toddlers who are still in nappies (not potty trained) are not allowed in the pool. A vinyl pool exclusively for infants is available, so please use that.
Some pools have special features such as a flowing pool, a circular pool with a waterslide and a 50-metre pool, while others offer various events such as stamp rallies and one-point swimming lessons.
In addition to pools, the city's parks are also holding water play events, such as watergun play, water-related wildlife observation, and sprinkler and mist showers.
Some parks also have "play parks" run by local volunteers, where children can climb trees, play in the mud, and make their own water-based activities.
Please note that there are no changing rooms or shower facilities in the parks.
During the hot summer months, have fun with water at outdoor park pools and parks.
