This week’s edition is on the ‘World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama 2025’.
The 'World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama 2025’ will be held on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May at special venues around Yokohama Yamashita Park.
The triathlon is a race in which participants compete on the basis of their overall strength in three events: swimming, cycling and running.
The elite division, for which top athletes will be gathering on the 17th, will be contested over a 1.5km swim, a 40km cycle, and a 10km run.
This tournament is the world's top competition leading up to the Olympics. Participants compete in a series of races around the world to earn points and determine the champion of the year.
Top-level athletes from all over the world will gather in Yokohama to take part in the highly charged races.
This Yokohama tournament has been held since 2009, and this year marks the 15th anniversary of the event.
On 18th, the Age Group Category will be held. Approximately 1800 competitors of wide-ranging ages from the general public will take part in the heated competition. Please cheer on the participants from the roadside!
"Hamatora FES", one of Japan's largest triathlon festivals, will also be held on both days, at Zou-no-Hana Park, next to the competition venue!
In addition to food trucks and other attractions, this year there will also be a show based on the popular children's animation "Paw Patrol."
Please come with your family and enjoy the festival as well as watching the races.
