Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
22nd April 2026
This week’s edition is a call for runners in the Yokohama Marathon, which will be held on Sunday 25th October.
Run through Yokohama and change your world!
The Yokohama Marathon is one of Japan's leading city marathons. It starts in front of the Yokohama Landmark Tower and takes runners through iconic Yokohama landmarks, including Minato Mirai, the Red Brick Warehouse, Yamashita Park, the Marine Tower, and even the Bayshore Route of the Metropolitan Expressway, which is usually closed to runners.
In addition to the ‘Full Marathon’, there will be a wide range of categories to suit everyone from beginners to experienced runners, including the ‘Minato Mirai 7km Run’, the ‘Pair Relay’, the ‘Bayshore Highway Run’ (equivalent to a half marathon), and the ‘Enjoy Run’ for parents and children.
There will also be a variety of initiatives to add excitement to the tournament and encourage the runners, including appearances by special guest supporters, collaborative events with popular Yokohama-specific content, performances along the course to cheer on the runners, and the “Lucky Snack Service”.
At the finish line in Rinko Park, the ‘Yokohama Marathon Festa’ will be held,
where people can enjoy food and stage events.
This year's slogan is, "Run. Find Your Favorite Yokohama."
Why not run through the streets of Yokohama this autumn?
Applications will be accepted until Sunday 17th May.
