The Japan Meteorological Agency is warning of heavy snowfall in the Kanto Koshin region, especially along mountainous areas and regions, from now until tomorrow morning.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and other authorities have announced that large-scale preventive road closures will be implemented to prevent vehicles from getting stuck on main roads due to heavy snowfall.

Some sections are already closed. Please check the weather and traffic information for your area.

The Kanto Koshin region is expected to experience widespread snowfall, including in central Tokyo, during the night, and even in the 23 Wards of Tokyo, there is a risk of snow accumulating.

関東甲信は、これからあす朝までに山沿いや山地を中心に大雪となるところがあるとして、気象庁は路面凍結などによる交通への影響に警戒するよう呼びかけています。

国土交通省などは大雪による幹線道路上の車の滞留を回避するため、大規模な予防的通行止めを実施すると発表しました。
