First, we have information on prevention of diseases caused by mosquitoes. Mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever and Zika virus, are diseases that are spread to people by mosquitoes. It is important to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and prepare for outbreaks. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government sets the month of June, just before mosquito season, as "Mosquito Prevention Reinforcement Month.” This effort aims to prevent the mosquito-borne infection from occurring and spreading, through taking measures to prevent mosquito-outbreak, early detection of virus-carrying mosquitoes and preventing infection from spreading among patients. Please work together to help reduce the number of mosquitoes in your area by getting rid of water puddles and other water sources that may be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
