As of 1st July, smoking in public places including roads and parks throughout the city has been banned.

This follows a partial amendment to the “Shinagawa City Ordinance on the Prevention of Smoking while Walking, and Dropping Litter such as Cigarette Butts and Empty Cans.”

In addition, starting this fiscal year, the city is promoting the establishment of public smoking areas by increasing the subsidy rate for the establishment and maintenance of privately run public smoking areas, expanding the scope of eligible expenses, and relaxing area requirements, thereby reducing the burden on businesses.

品川区からのお知らせです。

7月1日から、「品川区歩行喫煙、および、吸い殻・空き缶等の投げ捨ての防止に関する条例」の一部改正に伴い、区内全域の道路や公園などの公共の場所での喫煙が、禁止となりました。

また今年度から、民間公衆喫煙所の設置・維持に関する助成の助成率の引き上げ、補助対象経費の拡大、面積要件の緩和を行い、事業者の負担を軽減することで、公衆喫煙所の設置促進を図っています。
