Minato Children and Families General Support Center (prov.) / Disaster Prevention Information Emails

Minato City will open a complex facility provisionally called the Minato Children and Families General Support Center in April 2021 at Minami-aoyama 5­­–chome. It is composed of the following three facilities: Children and Families Support Center, Child Consultation Center, and Maternal and Child Living Support Facility.

At this center, anyone can seek advice freely on child-rearing. For specialized cases, you can have consultations with professionals such as Child Welfare Officers at Child Consultation Center, Child Psychologists and doctors, etc.

In Minato City, the children’s population is expected to continue growing. The city is committed to support child-rearing to ensure that every family can enjoy positive parenting and to provide continuous assistance from pregnancy to helping children become independent.

In the event of a disaster such as an earthquake, this station, InterFM897, will broadcast important information from Minato City such as damage updates and evacuation procedures.

Minato City also sends out disaster prevention information e-mails to anyone who registers for them.

The information provided is in English and Japanese, and covers earthquakes, river levels during heavy rain, and rainfall levels. Information other than this will also be sent, but only in Japanese. The content of the disaster prevention information emails can be viewed on the Minato City website too, in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean.


To register for the emails, please do the following:

1) Send a blank email to kumin@bousai.city.minato.tokyo.jp .

2) Click on the registration link in the reply mail, select ‘Japanese’ or ‘English’ and press the OK button.

3) Select the necessary information and press the OK button.

The registration method is set out clearly on the Minato City website, so please take a look. Enquiries will be dealt with in Japanese only, at the Disaster Prevention Subsection of the Disaster Prevention Section at Minato City Hall on 03-3578-2541.
